European
Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology
Established
in 1957, the European
Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) is an
scientific association that aims to provide scientific information
about allergy and immunology,
promote clinical and basic research as well as encourage
training and continuous education on the relevant fields. EAACI includes
39 European National Societies, and more than 3500 academicians,
research investigators and clinicians that gather together in an
annual Congress
to discuss recent developments and future prospects in the allergy and
immunology field. Several other meetings, summer schools and seminars
are organized and supported throughout the year. It publishes two
journals with high impact factors: Allergy
and Pediatric
Allergy, and a quarterly Newsletter. Grants and Awards are also
offered to young investigators every year.
During the XXII EAACI Congress that took place in Paris on June 2003,
the Academy launched its new website www.eaaci.net
. The website offers
EAACI members and the scientific community a new, effective
communication tool. In the EAACI website, one will find information
about the activities of the Academy and its Sections and Interest
Groups, Junior Members and National Societies, as well as news and
resources on allergy-related issues.
